Participants in Detecting Domestic and Homegrown Violent Extremism are introduced to the differences between domestic and homegrown violent extremism, indicators of extremist behavior, characteristics of recruitment, radicalization, and the legal safeguards that protect civil rights and privacy. Additionally, the course covers methods that improve responder safety and techniques to counter extremist threats through interagency and community partnerships.
