Community volunteers are needed to support the Severe Weather Shelters in Port Orchard, Silverdale and Kingston this winter. This program launched by Kitsap County Emergency Management (KCDEM) is now overseen by the Housing & Homeless Division of the Kitsap County Human Services Department. This is the 18th season of providing safe warm beds for those without adequate housing when the overnight temperature is expected to fall below freezing, or in response to the forecast of other winter storm conditions between November 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027.
