Today Kitsap County’s Housing and Homelessness Division and Kitsap Community Resources opened the doors on a new program aiming to keep our most vulnerable community members safely housed.

The Kitsap Eviction Prevention Assistance Program (KEPA) will use more than $18 million from federal and state sources to help renters who have been impacted financially by COVID-19 and are behind on rent and/or utilities. The program covers up to 12 months of assistance (in any combination of past or future rent, up to a maximum of two months of future rent) for those who meet the income qualifications. Landlords are encouraged to support qualified renters in applying for assistance and can also initiate the Pre-Application.

Renters can access printable pre-application packets now or wait for the rollout of an online application. Visit http://kcowa.us/kepa online for more information and access to the pre-application packet. Those who need help printing can visit their local library branch for free printouts.

If someone is unable to use the Internet for any reason, they can call Kitsap Community Resources at 360-473-2035 for support.
