Pandemic/Family Assistance Center Exercise

Loading Events

There will be a four-hour exercise to practice setting up a Family Assistance Center during a pandemic situation. Typically, Family Assistance Centers are established when there has been some type of mass casualty event. The purpose of these centers is to offer support to the families of those involved in a disaster.

A wide range of key stakeholders and community partners will participate. Participants may be in-person at the Family Assistance Center set-up at the KCDEM Staging site, virtual, or in a consultation mode, as needed.

KCDEM will guide participants through an exercise with three modules. KCDEM will use feedback from participants to revise the Family Assistance Center Annex plan and better prepare the whole community.
