Cyberattacks have increased substantially over the last decade, threatening the stability of local governments, industry, and non-profit organizations. In response, Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management is hosting a Cyber Security Conference on May 14 at the Kitsap Conference Center in Bremerton. This event is from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and will help small business owners, non-profits and faith-based organizations take needed steps to safeguard all types of data against theft and loss. There is no cost to register and attend this event.

Featured topics include guarding against phishing, malware, ransomware and weak passwords. The featured speakers are Jim Kuiphof, Deputy Chief Information Security Officer and head of the Cyber Fusion Center of Corewell Health, Augie D’Agostino the Chief Information Security Officer at University of Washington Medicine and Mark VanDyke, subject matter expert in Healthcare Emergency Management who as also developed a highly-effective skillset fostering business continuity for all kinds of businesses.
