September is National Preparedness Month. The national theme this year is “Preparedness Starts At Home.” We believe that’s true. At KCDEM we want  every household to be ready for emergencies and disasters. Preparedness starts at home AND it extends to the neighborhood. It will be neighbors helping neighbors that will save lives when The Big One hits. Preparedness also pulls the Community TOGETHER. Kitsap County is filled with people and organizations with skills, knowledge and resources that are critical to responding effectively in the crisis of disaster AND essential in helping each community bounce back from a disaster. Ready Bremerton 2025 is a catalyst to promote preparedness at home and in the neighborhood. It is also a celebration of the Kitsap non-profits, agencies and businesses committed to pulling together before, during and after a disaster.
