The next offering of Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training in Kitsap County starting September 13. This nationally certified training provides community members the opportunity to learn the vital skills and teamwork essential to assist and provide support in an emergency or disaster. The classes will be held over the course of five weeks on Wednesday evenings and Saturday days at the Seabeck Community Center.
CERT members are trained in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations. CERT training is FREE and open to any person in Kitsap County over the age of 18. The class size is limited and registration in advance is required. Unit 2 – CERT Organization Wednesday, Sept 20 6pm – 8pm
Unit 8 – Terrorism & CERT Wednesday, Sept 27 6pm – 8pm
Unit 3 & 4 – Disaster Medical/Triage Saturday, Sept 30 9am – 4:00pm
Unit 6 & 7 – Fire & Utilities/Light Search & Rescue Saturday, Oct 7 9am – 4pm
Unit 5 – Disaster Psychology Wednesday, Oct 11 6pm – 8pm
Unit 9 – Final Exam and Drill Saturday, Oct 14 9am – 8pm
The classes will be held at the Seabeck Community Center which is located 15565 Seabeck Hwy NW, Seabeck, WA 98380.
