Vaccination against COVID-19 will be a community effort.

Kitsap County is in the planning stages of community-based vaccination operations in support of the Kitsap Public Health District and the residents of Kitsap County. Volunteers are needed for the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) to help with this effort. If you are a medical professional, and are interested in serving your community, please register to become an emergency worker with Kitsap County.

Medical professionals could include RNs, LPNs, Medical Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants, Dentists, and others. For a full list, please visit the MRC page on the Kitsap Emergency Management site.

“Medical staff currently working in our hospitals and in private practice have been taxed heavily over the last ten months. We need to provide them the support they need to cross the finish line. That’s where MRC members, retired or otherwise , could make a difference,” according to Kitsap County’s MRC Coordinator, Jan Glarum.

There are also opportunities for non-medical personal to assist in the distribution of personal protection equipment and other logistical work. Training will be provided, if needed. Please register to become an Emergency Worker with Kitsap County today.
