Kitsap CERT supports Bremerton Marathon
The Bremerton Marathon was held on May 11 this spring and Kitsap CERT volunteers were there providing critical support. The race started at Evergreen Park and runner made their way through Manette, Illahee, Brownsville, Silverdale, Chico, and back to Evergreen Park. KCDEM Programs
The Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management (KCDEM) runs many volunteer programs to increase the county’s ability to respond to and recover from disasters. KCDEM also runs other programs to improve emergency response. These include:
- Community Emergency Response Team: Volunteers interested in emergency response and aiding the community.
- Kitsap Auxiliary Radio Service : Amateur radio operators who provide emergency communications skills.
- Medical Reserve Corps: Retired and current healthcare workers who volunteer in emergency situations.
- Severe Weather Shelters: Volunteers who staff overnight severe weather shelters in the winter months.
