DESCRIPTION:The Kitsap County LEPC (Local Emergency Preparedness Committee) will be hosting the County Emergency Preparedness Assessment (CEPA) in lieu of our regular LEPC meeting on Thursday August 1\, 2024\, starting at 9:00 a.m. The workshop will be held at the Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue Administration Building. The address is 5300 NW Newberry Hill Road\, Suite 101 Silverdale\, WA 98383. \nThis is a state required process we must complete every 3 years. It is imperative that we have a strong level of participation from our partner agencies and organizations. As this will be a long day\, lunch will be provided. The meeting will conclude no later than 3:00 p.m.  \nThis flyer that provides a good overview of the topics which participants should come prepared to discuss. This training is designed to equip local volunteers with the essential knowledge needed to activate a 24-hour disaster shelter. This shelter will open before a major winter storm disrupts safe travel. Shelter clients will be provided with bedding and meals until it is safe to travel once again. \nThis training is open to all KCDEM volunteers and community members interested in becoming a KCDEM volunteer.
