This course expands upon information covered in the ICS 100 through ICS 300 courses\, which are prerequisites for ICS 400. \nCOURSE OBJECTIVES \n\nExplain how major incidents engender special management challenges.\nDescribe the circumstances in which an Area Command is established.\nDescribe the circumstances in which Multi-Agency Coordination Systems are established.\n\nPREREQUISITES \nRequired:\n \n\nIS-100 Introduction to Incident Command System (ICS) (any version)\n\nIS-200 ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents (any version)\nIS-700 National Incident Management System (any version)\nIS-800 National Response Framework\, An Introduction (any version)\nICS-300 Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents\nVisit FEMA’s Emergency Management Institute to complete these Independent Study courses.\n\nTARGET AUDIENCE \n\nEmergency Management\, police\, fire\, healthcare\, public works\, human services\, parks\, electeds and policy makers\nSelection Criteria: The target audience for this course is senior personnel who are expected to perform in a management capacity in an Area Command or Multi-Agency Coordination Entity.\nThis course is open to any responder from cities\, tribes\, county\, state and federal agencies\, special purpose districts\, and private and non-profit partners.\n\nTo apply\, go to ICS-400
