At this time of the year, the combination of abnormally high tides, heavy rain, and the gravitational pull between the Earth and the moon can cause a phenomenon known as King Tides. - BEFORE an emergency, teach your child how to dial 911
- Who’s your emergency contact? Make sure the kids know who it is and practice with them.
- Update school records and discuss emergency contact numbers with kids before they go #BackToSchool
- Review your school’s plans for tornadoes, earthquakes and other disasters
Wildfire Preparedness
Before a wildfire happens, take time to:
- Know what to do before, during, and after a wildfire.
- Learn your evacuation routes and plan to evacuate if advised by local authorities.
- Have emergency supplies in place at home, at work, and in the car.
- Check your insurance policies to ensure you have enough coverage.
- Create a communications plan with your family.
